Mark offers 30 years of mortgage banking experience to the Richmond area since joining the mortgage business in 1985. With extensive knowledge in Conventional, FHA, FHA 203k Rehabilitation loans, VA, VHDA & USDA loan programs, Mark continues to match each client with the best loan program to fit their individual goals.
Mark thrives on his ability to offer personal service, providing a unique experience to the loan process. He takes the time to understand and listen to each client’s financial goals and establishes lifelong relationships with each of them. Mark recognizes the reality of today’s financial and housing markets offering knowledge with experience and dependability.
He has extensive experience in Energy Efficient Mortgages (EEM’s) as well as Renovation Lending. Mark has been a speaker and presenter at various events including the Energy and Environmental Building Association (EEBA) and Financing Residential Energy Efficiency (FREE) conferences.
Mark is a member of the Board of Directors for the Richmond Mortgage Bankers Associations and is the Treasurer. Mark is a member of the Board of Directors for Redeemer Lutheran Church
Mark Hood is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University and lives in Richmond with his wife and two children.
When not working, Mark enjoys music and is the bass player for Simple Truth. Mark also coaches Upward Soccer and Upward Basketball.
