Our Newest Certified Mortgage Banker - Kevin Conlon
Kevin Conlon, Executive Vice-President of Mason-McDuffie Mortgage, earned the prestigious Certified Mortgage Banker (CMB) designation and was recognized at the annual Mortgage Bankers Association conference last month.
Conlon, who joined Mason-McDuffie in 2006, oversees operations for the firm. That includes all compliance, underwriting, loan processing and closing. He guided his team through the challenges of new federal regulations and is working hard to prepare his team for the era of digital mortgages.
To earn the CMB designation he had to pass a six-hour written exam and a one-hour oral exam. The exams followed mortgage banking courses that had to be completed in a three-year period.
Marilyn Richardson, CEO of Mason-McDuffie, wrote in an email to employees, “A Certified Mortgage Banker (CMB) represents a professional standard recognized throughout the real estate finance industry. The CMB designation is awarded to mortgage banking professionals who have both experience and demonstrated knowledge in the field of real estate finance.  It signifies to the real estate finance community an individual's superior knowledge, understanding, and competency in residential real estate finance.”
